Jewellery Care
Taking care of your jewellery from the get-go is crucial. Exposure to soaps, sprays, and lotions can result in your pieces becoming tarnished. To prevent this, we suggest you avoid wearing your gems in settings such as showers, baths, pools, and during exercise. Perfume can be especially damaging to your jewellery due to its essential oils and alcohol content, so make sure your fragrance is completely dry by leaving it for 10-15 minutes before wearing any jewels. And don’t forget to remove your jewellery if you’re topping up any products throughout the day!Storing your jewellery in a clean and dry place is ideal, such as in a jewellery box or a fabric-lined case. This keeps it safe from scratches, sprays and pesky tangles. To keep your silver jewellery from tarnishing, it may be a good idea to keep them in airtight boxes (most of our items will be shipped in an airtight box) if not in use for a long period of time. It never hurts to give your jewellery a polish every few weeks with a microfibre cloth (or specialist jewellery cloth). How Jewellery Can Tarnish:Exposure to soaps, perfumes, lotions & oils, chlorine and cleaning chemicalsSubmerging in water for long periods of time or repeatedly being dampenedOxidising through prolonged exposure to direct sunlightExposure to toxins or chemicals released from the skin through our sweatNatural Gemstones Need Extra CareNever fully submerge your gemstones in waterAvoid exposing all gems to excessively bright lightStore your gems in a sealed container such as a jewellery box
